bug: Ctrl-C no longer works in "exclude" dialog
|

In order to define productive window titles I used to open the "Exclude from Capture" dialog (IIRC called something with "Filter" in TS 3.3) and copy the window title (or more often just parts of it) to the clipboard and then paste it into the productivity wizard (by clicking the "Configure" link underneath my productivity score). This no longer works as expected in TS 3.4. Clipboard commands only work via the right-click menu. Pressing Ctrl-C always just gives you an empty clipboard now (i.e. it does overwrite previous clipboard content - so something is happening when I press Ctrl-C).
Obviously it would be even better if there was some sort of shortcut for adding the current window title (or parts of it) to the productivity wizard, e.g. the window title edit could default to the current window title when I open the productivity wizard from the Day Browser (without actually adding it yet).

Ah -- I think I can help.
If you're using the productivity features, then the red or green button at the bottom of the 'productivity score' rectangle, is actually a way to toggle the productivity indicator for the currently viewed application or url.
It's hard to explain -- i hope the attached picture will help.

Yeah, I know. But it doesn't work for defining productive window titles... (or does it?)
For example I don't count OUTLOOK.EXE towards my productive applications but I do occasionally add unique subjects lines (or significant bits thereof) of long-winded work-related email conversations to the productive window titles so I can track the time spent on writing and reading those mails.
(anyway, Ctrl-C is still supposed to work, isn't it? ;) )

For some strange reasons, the new ToolStrip/ContextMenuStrip control that we put in there (that comes standard with .NET 2.0) seems to be stealing the keyboard event. What actually gets copied is the image in the day browser!
I've done some "hack" to avoid that problem which gets rolled out with the next version.
Thanks
Atli
ps. What I did was (in case someone stumbles here from Google):
- cleared the ShortcutKey property from the menuitem that was stealing the event
- set ShortcutKeyDisplayString = "Ctrl+C"
- manually caught the event through the forms keydown handler (with frm.Keypreview = True)

I can confirm the Ctrl-C bug to be fixed in TS 3.5.0.5.
Any news on planned features to simplify adding (partial) window titles to the productivity wizard?
Cheers,
Oliver
