Desktop widget for task/client switching

Alti, or anyone out there
i would like to have a small widget that stays "always on top" on the desktop, which is simple a panel of up to a dozen or so small buttons which are labeled with the names of clients or tasks.
Only one button can be active at a time. When you switch tasks you hit a button and it creates a flag in timesnapper, with the button label as the text note. One click - that is all (or an optional hotkey)
Optionally there is append note button which opens open a tiny text window for adding additional notes, which are appended to the flag notes for whatever task is active.
Task will switch automatically to "off" if the computer goes to sleep.
been looking in vain for a long time to find anything that solves this simple issue. "a task switching timer that is so simple you will actually use it."
