Enhance the plugin API to support task lookup and timesheet integration

It would be nice to be able to write plugins that interface with various systems for the task lookup and timesheet integration functionality. Not all task info/timesheet systems allow direct database access, so creating integration for those systems is difficult.
A simple example: It would be nice to be able to put my tasks for lookup in an XML file so I don't have to have it in a database instance.
A more complex example: Task lookup using the Microsoft Project Server API.
Even more complex: Time sheet submission by automating a web browser through WATIN or some other mechanism when there is no API access.
