Flexible "day": Treat midnight till 1am as being the day before

I often work after midnight... can we correspondingly adjust Timesnapper's consideration of what constitutes a "day"?

Thanks, M.

We've had this request once before and I think it might be a nice feature (as I feel the need for it too :)

Here is that email and the reply I sent (reuse all that typing!):

I've got a really funny feature request. Would it be possible for me to
chose the time at which a day starts and ends?

I often do some extra work late in the evening, say from 00:30 to 02:00.
This is almost always part of the previous day's work, not the coming day.
So when I am using the day browser, I need to jump back and forth between
two days to compile my time sheet.

My reply:

Yeah, it kinda makes sense and it wouldn't be hard to change the timebar (like adding an offset: 6 hours (configurable of course).  That would mean the timebar would show: 6AM -> 6AM).

What might make it harder are all those "side features", like the flags (and their corresponding timesheet features), the new reports (btw, v. 2.4 is out, did you know that?).  Should they also have this offset?  No need to answer those questions, just thinking out loud :)

Other possibility would be to extend the timebar, by e.g. 4 hours =>  12AM -> 4AM (28 hours in total, would automatically trim down if no activity within those hours)

So, we have it on the drawing board - although we haven't fully decided on how it would be implemented

Thank Martin

Please could I give this feature a nudge! I have recently purchased the software and it's fab but I was surprised not to find this feature which is now standard with many other scheduling apps. I would really like to see it added as I work until up to 4am too sometimes! I think 4am limit is enough so the 28 hour total sounds ideal.

It's been six months since the original post so I'm hoping that there's been some progress please please..? :D

Thank you

Hi Kudos,

do you only need to be able to see an "extended timebar" (one that extends past midnight) or are you using the flags feature for keeping track of time (and want time after midnight to be assigned to the day before)?

thanks

Hi Atli,

I'm afraid I want the harder one! :p

I want to be able to view reports and have 00-04AM added onto the previous day like you say..

Kudos :)
