trial expire not working properly

hi,

i just purchased a timesnapper license.  i have been using it for about 5-6 weeks and find that it has increased my productivity a lot.  i am at 90% now where i used to be around 65%.  considering the hours i typically work this is a lot of time per day.

i noticed a problem with your licensing mechanism.  i rarely shut down my notebook, and therefore have been running ts for 2+ weeks at least.  i had a feeling that my license expired but was never prompted.  i finally just purchased a license, then once i had my code, shut down and restarted ts.

next, i restarted then finally got the prompt that my license was expired.

ts needs to check the trial state at least once a day and show the expire dialog accordingly.

thx again for a great product!

Hi Jeff, thanks for the suggestion. And very glad you're getting productivity gains!

An increase from 65 to 90 percent -- that's got to add up over time!!

You're probably right about checking every day -- but i think we might leave it as is.

We try to err on the side of generosity -- so maybe it's okay that our licensing mechanism doesn't catch up with them right away... i'd hate to interrupt a user in the middle of real work to tell them that some software needs their attention. (Microsoft might be happy to do that... but I'm not :) )

Thanks for telling us about this.

Keep those ideas and suggestions coming -- we're always working to make timesnapper more helpful.

take care

Now this is a quote we'll most likely put on our testimonials section!  Smile [:)]
