Day browser does not remember last position
|
|
|

When I start the Browse window in my multi-monitor setup, it does not now remember the monitor where it last appeared.
I have two different sized monitors - I prefer to browse my snapshots on the larger monitor (which is the secondary monitor). So I start the browser, it starts on the smaller primary monitor, I move it to the larger monitor, browse and then close the browser.
Next time I start the browser, it starts on the primary monitor and I have to move it again (and so on).
Somewhere (which I now can't find) I reported a problem with TS windows appearing off screen when swapping from multi-monitor to one monitor. You reported this fixed but look like you have introduced this new problem.
Can you make the rule for displaying the window something like: 'Display it where it last displayed if the monitor is available and only display it back on the primary monitor, if that location is not available'
Thanks

Hi
I've noticed this too, fixed it and this should work in the latest (not-released) build:
If you'd like to verify:
1. Download: http://www.timesnapper.com/downloads/TimeSnapperPro_v2.6.4.2.zip 2. Extract over you current installation of TimeSnapper 3. Run and see how it works
Thanks Atli

Didn't download this version but problem does not appear to be fixed in V2.7.0.2: if you have the Browse window maximised in the secondary monitor, close the window and then reopen it, it reopens in the primary monitor.

That's pretty strange since it's working flawlessly on my dual monitor setup!

Don't know if it makes a difference but the two monitors have different resolutions. I am using a Dell D420 laptop - the primary screen on the laptop has a resolution of 1280x800; the secondary screen which is a separate monitor is 1280 x 1024.
Would it help if I sent some screen shots?

hmm, that might make a difference... I've registered the bug in our system.
In the meanwhile, you might have more success maximixing the dialog by resizing to fit the screen (as opposed to clicking the maximize button)... although I haven't tried that!

Resizing to fit the secondary screen appears to work. When I close and reopen the browser, it reopens in the same position - on the secondary screen, where I want it. So fine as a workaround.
