where are the deleted snapshots?

I was in the playback mood when it crashed. After restart TimeSnaper, about half of recorded snapshots were gone and they aren't in the trash bin either. Is there a way to recover them? Thanks.

Hi,
one important question: when it crashed, do you remember roughly the error message?
TimeSnapper never deletes files unless it's auto-cleaning-up. How are your auto-cleanup settings (Tools -> Options -> Auto cleanup) and also, how much space are your snapshots taking?
There is a tool I have used, called PC Inspector File Recovery that I
have personally used before with good results to get back deleted
files. It's even a free program. Here you can find information on it:
http://www.pcinspector.de/Sites/file_recovery/info.htm?language=1
and you can download it from here:
http://www.pcinspector.de/Sites/file_recovery/download.htm?language=1
I suggest you download it and give it a try since the images are
obviously important to you. In case you're able to salvage some of the
files, you'll have to import them back into TimeSnapper. You can do
that from Tools -> Advanced -> Import images from older version
and follow the instructions.
Another program I've heard of is Undelete PLUS, which I've heard works well and is more intuitive (haven't tried it myself though): http://undelete-plus.com/
Hope this helps, Atli
Check out TimeSnapper, the automatic screenshot journal at www.timesnapper.com
It runs in the background of your computer, taking screenshots of your desktop every few seconds all week long.
TimeSnapper lets you play back your week just like a movie. Use it to improve your work habits and become more productive.

Hi Atli,
There was no error message. It froze for about 3 minutes, then I force quited it. Auto cleanup is set at 5GB. The lost data was from the most recent snapshots. Thanks for the links. I'm still experimenting with TimeSnapper, the data that was loss wasn't too important. It seems TM deletes the snapshots completely from the HDD. It would be nice to have the option to delete the snapshots in the recycle bin.
TM is an excellent program, keep up the good works.
