"New Task" disabled in task bar
|
|
|
|
|
I don't know if this meant to be a trial limitation or something, but when I right click the icon in my taskbar (the area by the clock on XP), "New Task..." is grayed out. If I double click to open TimeSnapper and then "Go To," "New Task..." is there and enabled properly. So, I can create tasks, but not from the taskbar.
I'm running 2.7.0.2
Thanks!!
Mark

Hi Mark!
This must be a bug - certainly not a limitation that we are imposing on the trial version. Unfortunately I'm unable to reproduce the bug. If you shut down TimeSnapper and start it again, is it still disabled/grayed out in the system tray?
Thanks, Atli ps. Tip: a global keyboard shortcut to open the new Task dialog: [Win]+S and then press 1 (one)

Oddly enough, that fixed it. Odd because I've rebooted since I first noticed it was disabled. Well, that was easy.
Thanks!!

Ok, I found "when" it's disabling - and then not re-enabling.
When restarting Timesnapper, the "New Flag" item is enabled in the
taskbar menu as we figured out previously.
When I double-click to open TS, it's disabled in the
right-click menu (which may be correct), BUT, when I minimize TS again,
the "New Task" item is still disabled, and stays disabled until i
restart.
Also, when I log in to the forum, i get a search page which doesn't seem to work. Then when I come back to the forum (through the breadcrumb link), I don't seem to be logged in anymore.
Thanks!!
Mark

Wow, I am sorry. All this time, and I haven't noticed.
I meant "New Flag..." for all of the above.

Aha, I see the problem - really glad you brought it to our attention.
This is not the normal behaviour. I've fixed it (will be released with the next version). In the meantime, do this to circumvent this problem: Goto Tools -> Options -> Integration Check the "Enable Timesheet integration" checkbox
Now you should be all set!
Thanks Atli
