I have been thinking the same thing - that timesnapper could be adapted to be a useful tool for parents to protect their children.

It could also include the following ideas:
- password protection
- visual reminder as to the settings so all computer users know what level of monitering is in place
- it should always note when the computer is on even if timesnapper is not recording (in case of hacker kids or guessing the parents password)
- different levels of monitering - eg. full recording for young children; but excluded recording for teenagers if you trust them to a certain extent (eg. dont record www.yahoo.com - just that they were on there - that way parents know what they are doing and when but not necessarily fully invading privacy)
- perhaps the abilty to moniter the time usage of each child - so each kid logs on to timesnapper - useful for example in families with only one computer and the time is to be shared equitably
- quick rundown of the time spent on each application - eg. internet versus minesweeper vs word.
- recommendations as to how to come to an agreement with the child about monitering
- it should not be covert - the kids should definately know and the simple threat that parents will be able to see what is going on should act as a big deterrent to inapproprate behaviour

Thanks
shaz

Yeah, I would like to see these features too, especially the "password to disable" the program
